Giving Back to Our Community

Children Cancer Association - CCAWhen it comes to giving back, Maids by Trade is a house cleaning service that stands firm. We are committed to positive community involvement by contributing to and networking with other local organizations and the business community.

Originally Maids by Trade started by providing free service to elderly people in need. We decided to expand this service to women with cancer. Giving back is one of our core values and Maids by Trade actively contributes by:

  • Supporting the Children’s Cancer Association
  • Sponsoring The Portland Women’s Expo Foundation
  • Donating free services to women battling cancer
  • Sponsoring LGBTQ organizations and events, such the APS Foundation & others
  • Supporting our youth by sponsoring local sports teams
  • Sponsoring minority events and local non-profit organizations
  • Partnering with Kiva to give out micro-loans to individuals in need

The Children’s Cancer Association (CCA)

Maids by Trade was part of the Children’s Cancer Association telethon on the KPTV Good Day Oregon show. During the live broadcasting, Maids by Trade’s founder, Fortino Barajas, presented a check to the CCA. Supporting the Children’s Cancer Association has great meaning for Maids by Trade’s founder as this matter has touched him in a personal level with a family member.

The Portland Women’s Expo

It is an honor for Maids by Trade to sponsor The Portland Women’s Expo Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to building stronger communities by providing women with the essential resources to combat domestic abuse, substance abuse, and unemployment. The ultimate goal of the Foundation is to create a facility where women can access resources and programs. We are proud to support such a worthy cause.

Pride Organizations

Maids by Trade is a proud supporter of the LGBTQ community. We have sponsored the APS Foundation, a non-profit that promotes activities and events in the community that enhance a more active and healthier lifestyle. We had the amazing opportunity to be on a float during the Portland Pride Parade and see the thousands of families gathered to show support.

Maids by Trade also is an official sponsor of Wild Planet Radio, a station dedicated to giving voice to Portland’s LGBTQ community.

We plan to continue sponsoring events and organizations that empower the LGBTQ community and strive toward equality for all humans. We are fortunate to be part of the Portland Pride Festival and all its celebrations.

Cleaning for a reasonCleaning for a Reason

Maids by Trade and the non-profit Cleaning for a Reason have partnered to help women focus on getting well instead of on cleaning their home.

We provide free house cleaning service to women that are battling cancer. We help these women have a clean home and one less thing on their minds. Our community now has a local cleaning service that will help reduce the financial burden families with a loved one that’s undergoing cancer treatment.

Just imagine a time in your life when you needed help and no one was there for you. If you’ve been fortunate enough to have people give you a hand, then imagine what your life would have been like if those people did not step forward to help in your time of need.

Kiva

Maids by Trade is proud to work with Kiva. Through this organization, we give out microloans to individuals trying to better their lives. Maids by Trade understands that the support of others can be what makes all the difference. We are happy to give this opportunity to those who need it and help people help themselves.

Building and maintaining stronger communities

Maids by Trade and other local organizations have joined forces to support and sustain our community through the sponsoring of local events and causes in order maintain a healthier and happier society.

We are a house cleaning service, but we are also something more. We believe in bringing people together, inspiring change, and making a difference in the lives of others. Join us!
