Closets are for putting away lots of things in a small space, so of course keeping them neat and organized is a challenge. Store your Items Appropriately
Store items in logical places. Least-used items should be stored at the top of your closet so they don’t get in the way of things you look for more frequently. Items used occasionally go at the bottom of your closet. And of course, your most-used items go at eye level. That way the first thing you see when you open your closet is probably what you were looking for.
Organize Purses
Get creative and use items already in your home to maximize space. For example, you can use shower hangers to hang up all your purses. Shower hangers will hold any kind of purse or bag, no matter how big or bulky. These little rings are great for organization as well as storing your purses safely and preventing damage.
Purge
Do you have more clothes than will physically fit into your closet? Take all your clothes and hang them backward with the curve of the hook facing toward you. Next time you take out a piece of clothing, wear it, and return it to the closet, hang the clothes hanger up the opposite way. At the end of the year see if any hangers are still backwards. Those are the clothes you never wear. Toss them out (or donate to charity) and get some space back.
Use Shelf Dividers
Use dividers on your shelves to give yourself smaller categories. For example, instead of having an “accessories” shelf, you could install dividers and then have sections for belts, scarves, jewelry, etc. Shelf dividers help you make your way to a specific item that much faster.
