Ironing Board Cover
Remove the cover from the board and read the label. Some ironing board covers can be machine washed. For these, just throw them in the washer with your regular detergent and wash on delicate for a full cycle.
For those covers that cannot be machine washed, spot clean problem areas. For sticky starch spots, use 1 cup of water, 1 cup of vinegar, and three tablespoons of baking soda in a spray bottle. Spray this solution on the area. Let it sit for a minute, then wipe the mess away with a damp cloth.

Set up the ironing board as usual. Remove the cover and pad. Wipe down the board with a damp cloth. Don’t forget to check under the board for cobwebs and wipe down the legs, too. Let the ironing board completely dry before replacing the cover and pad.

- Keep the face of your iron off the cover. Leaving the iron face sitting on the cover could damage the cover, the pad, or even start a fire if the iron is left too long.
- Clean your iron cover regularly. This will prevent dust and dirt from transferring from the cover to your clothes.
- Again, don’t forget to check the tag before cleaning! Make sure you know the cleaning and maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
- We’d also like to reemphasize letting all pieces dry completely before reassembling them. Otherwise you’ll have trapped moisture, which can result in mold!
